Frequently asked questions.

We understand that the cosmetic industry can appear daunting for newcomers. So here are the answers to concerns you may have on your mind.

  • Treatments can be uncomfortable in sensitive areas and depending on client sensitivities. However, numbing cream is applied before treatments, and ice is applied to the area if required. CIMED uses ultra-thin needles similar to those used in acupuncture and the treatment techniques have been developed for minimal discomfort.

  • The treatments into the skin can result in minimal swelling as this is the natural response for the body. Mild swelling can last a few hours and is usually resolved within a few days.

  • When a needle is inserted into the skin there is always a chance that a blood vessel may be punctured resulting in blood to spread out under the skin. The body naturally responds by putting a “cork” into a punctured vessel and the area of the bruising is very small. Such bruises usually clear after a few days. At CIMED we practice techniques to avoid bruising post treatment and punctured blood vessels are very rare.

  • At CIMED, our techniques and procedures are tailored to deliver natural looking results. We specialize in cosmetic treatments and ensure that the correct products are used to achieve subtle changes and the best results tailored to each individual patient.

  • There is no specific age to start with cosmetic treatments and every person is assessed individually. Younger people can use the treatments to enhance natural features and as a preventative measure against wrinkles and skin folds forming. Older patients can use the treatments to restore lost volumes, reduce wrinkles and skin folds and enhance sagging features.

  • There are virtually no negative side effects of micro-needling and none have ever been reported in over 150,000 procedures performed worldwide.
